Mike Bidwell
President and COO, The Dwyer Group®

Mike began his career with The Dwyer Group as a Rainbow International® franchisee in Tucson, Arizona when he opened his business in April 1984. In 1987, he became the company's first multi-concept franchisee by opening a newly acquired affiliate company, Worldwide Refinishing Systems, in Tucson as a master licensee for Arizona. In August 1992, Mike also opened Mr. Rooter® Plumbing, concurrently operating three different concepts. He sold his businesses in 1995 when he was recruited to join The Dwyer Group world headquarters as president of Rainbow International. Mike served as president of Rainbow International from 1995-2002, as president of Mr. Appliance® from 1998-2006 and president of Mr. Rooter® from 1998-2006. He was promoted to his current position of COO of The Dwyer Group in 2002 and then added the title of president of The Dwyer Group in 2007.

 

Before joining The Dwyer Group, Mike held positions with Shell Oil Company as an analyst, material control supervisor and project buyer from 1980-1984 at its world headquarters in Houston, Texas.

 

Mike has received many awards throughout his involvement in the franchising industry. For Rainbow International, he has been awarded Franchisee of the Year, Sale Leader of the Year (1990-1994) and Restorer of the Year. He was also named Franchisee of the Year for Worldwide Refinishing Systems. Mike was then awarded the Presidents' Choice Award and Don Dwyer Award of Excellence.

 

Mike graduated from the University of Arizona in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in business administration with a double major in economics and finance. He also earned his certified purchasing manager qualification in 1984 and the certified franchise executive designation in 2005.
